Aaron got started out of college opening a ski shop in Harrisonburg. After 14 years and a desire for something else, he teamed up with his bud and opened Jack Browns and Billy Jacks. They've now started franchising Jack Browns. He also co-organizes the Rocktown Beer & Music Festival for the past 3 years.


Allon Lefever

President, Lefever Associates

Allon Lefever has 30 years of extensive business management experience spanning agriculture, industrial, and Internet executive positions. He served as Group VP of Operations for V.F.Weaver, Inc., VP of Affiliated Companies for High Industries, Inc., Founder of SuperNet, and President NE Region of Following a successful IPO in 1999, OneMain was sold to Earthlink in 2001, with Allon serving as VP of Acquisitions for Earthlink. As an entrepreneur, he has helped found 22 companies, including 6 IPO’s, raising over $4 billion dollars in capital.

Allon then did a major career switch, spending 7 years in academics, where he served as Director of the Goshen College Family Business Program for 2 years and Director of the MBA Program at Eastern Mennonite University for 5 years, while also serving as a business professor, teaching Entrepreneurship and Management.

In addition to his Board service and consulting businesses, he has recently founded a Hospitality company, opening a Hampton Inn and Suites in Woodstock, VA., and a small SRI Venture capital company.

Allon has a passion for Entrepreneurship and the importance of integrating values into ones business. He has practical experience from his involvement in the formation and management of 16 private and 6 public companies over his career. Allon has served on 59 private and public Boards over his career, and continues to serve on a number of private and community Boards, specializing in strategic and succession planning, primarily with family businesses.

He and his wife Doris live in Harrisonburg, VA., have 3 adult children, and 8 grandchildren, which they thoroughly enjoy!

Patrick Asplin

Attorney, Lehnart Pettit

Patrick Asplin has a diverse business practice that includes business formation and financing, preparation and negotiation of key operational contracts, and commercial transactions. His practice has a particular emphasis on intellectual property issues and business disputes. He frequently counsels companies and business owners on matters relating to the acquisition, protection and exploitation of intellectual property, and this component of his practice includes trademark prosecution, IP licensing and university technology transfer. Patrick also handles a wide range of commercial disputes, including shareholder disputes, corporate dissolutions, breach of contract claims, business torts, and trademark and copyright infringement. Patrick has represented both professionals and entities in contentious business separations involving physicians, dentists, accountants and attorneys. He also frequently works with companies to protect critical business information and relationships from misappropriation by third parties and former employees. Patrick has represented clients in arbitration proceedings and in litigation before federal and state courts, including the Virginia Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Patrick previously practiced as a barrister in England.

Jody Keenan

Managing Director, Mason Enterprise Center

Jody Keenan is Managing Director, Mason Enterprise Center and State Director, Virginia Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) Network, hosted by George Mason University.

The Mason Enterprise Center is an organization of business assistance programs and incubators assisting entrepreneurs and small business owners with business and strategic planning, government contracting, access to capital, marketing, commercialization and innovation, and international trade.

The Virginia SBDC network is the most extensive business development program in the Commonwealth with 29 local offices providing professional business counseling, training and information resources. The SBDC network is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, George Mason University-Mason Enterprise Center and 18 other organizations, including institutions of higher education, chambers of commerce, and economic development organizations across Virginia.
